4. Can my Small Group serve, together?
Be A Difference-Maker Small Group
Live Out your faith by serving and giving back to God.
We encourage Small Groups to serve together. It can be a great experience to help you experience authentic community with God and each other. It can help you grow closer as a group, too. It can also be a lot of fun!
Your Small Group may find it very beneficial to go through the 40 Day Developing a Servant’s Heart study. It includes video teaching by Senior Pastor Jud Wilhite, Small Group study guides, daily reading materials, Bible memory verses and more. Pastors from Central Christian Church created the content, and many of our Small Groups find it to be a very effective study.
Serving as a Small Group can honor God and accomplish several things:
- You can grow closer together.
- Individuals in your group may discover a ministry where they would like to continue serving once the group steps away.
- You may help others in your group realize the joy and fun of giving back to God. You may help them find more purpose and meaning to life by helping others.
- Your group may ‘adopt’ a ministry area and give the people who serve there on a regular basis a well-deserved break. This would be a once a month commitment and can easily be arranged for nearly every ministry opportunity.
If there are members of your Small Group who are already actively serving, perhaps they could invite the rest of your group to join them.
We encourage you to talk this over with your Small Group. You can volunteer once a quarter, once a month, or more frequently – whatever works for you.
Pray about where you would like to serve or how you can help others get connected to serving opportunities. Serving is a fulfilling and purposeful way to 'Live Out' your faith. Let us help you connect with a serving opportunity.
