'60S DREAMIN'
In 1962, twenty-four believers dreamed of reaching others with the message of God's love. They met in a small downtown building named Oddfellows Hall and called themselves Central Christian Church. In essence, this was our very first Small Group.

THAT '70S SHOW
The little church had a big heart for people and continually invited friends. The result was a growing congregation and multiple moves to accommodate new believers. Central built a new building and, in 1970, held its first service at Mojave and Pecos.

'80S REMIX
The '80s marked the coming of the megaresort to the Strip. Las Vegas was becoming a world-class resort corridor. True to its original vision, Central continued to spread God's fame and saw more and more people come to Christ. To make room, they built a new worship center and then an activity center in order to connect the unconnected to Christ and together pursue full devotion to him.

BOOMIN' '90S
Corporate America discovered Las Vegas in the '90s. More jobs brought even more people to our valley and Southern Nevada grew as a great place to live, work, and play.

The '90s also found Central bursting at the seams. Weekend services moved from the auditorium to the activity center where 950 folding chairs were set up and broken down each week. Central prepared to relocate to a new campus to accommodate the growth.

Y2K AND THE NEW MILLENNIUM
While the Las Vegas Strip was bracing for Y2K and planning to ring in the new millennium, Central celebrated yet another new beginning. In December of 1999, Central moved to its Russell Road campus with much-needed auditorium seating for three thousand people. The address? 1001 New Beginnings Drive.

THRIVING IN A POST 9/11 WORLD
The new millennium introduced challenges such as 9/11 and the War on Terror, but Central continued to help people find their way to God. A fourth service was added, along with new Central Kidz environments. On September 10, 2006 Central launched its first Regional Site, Central Christian Church Summerlin.

ONE CHURCH, MANY LOCATIONS.
God is on the move at Central! In September of 2007, we added a second Saturday night service in Henderson, and a third Sunday service in Summerlin. With the success of the Summerlin campus, Central moved forward to expanding through Regional Sites across the Las Vegas Valley by opening a third campus in the Southwest and launching an Online Campus! The stories from Senior Pastor Jud Wilhite’s book Stripped: Uncensored Grace on the Streets of Vegas (2007) are testimonies to God’s work in people’s lives at Central – a place where it’s okay to not be okay.
